2005 MMBA Point Series Awards

The MMBA will also present a team trophy to the top team. The winning team will receive an engraved trophy to be displayed by the team until the completion of the following year's race season. The trophy is then passed along to the winner of the following race season. The team trophy fosters a sense of teamwork, and not simply riding for one's individual benefit.

The MMBA will also award the title "Master of Mud" and "Duchess of Dirt" to the fastest overall male and female and these individuals will race for free during the following season. The titles will typically go to the top expert/single speed men and women riders. To be eligible for the title, however, the expert/single speed rider must complete at least four MMBA Points Series races. If there is no eligible expert/single speed rider, the title will go to the fastest sport rider. If there is no eligible sport rider, the title will go to the fastest novice rider. For example, at the end of the season the top expert and sport women riders have each completed three MMBA races, while the top novice women rider has finished in seven MMBA races. Neither the expert nor sport riders are eligible for the "Duchess of Dirt" title, and therefore the title will go to the novice rider.

Due to the addition of the Single Speed category for the 2006 season, the overall Duchess and Master championship award will be calculated as follows: For each race, the top ten male and female Expert and Single Speed racers will be awarded points using the above table based on their finish times at each race. At the end of the season, the male and female with the most points, will be awarded the Duchess and Master title. In the event of a tie, the riders will be ranked in the order of their greatest number of highest place finishes, using as many scores as necessary to break the tie.

In past years, the "Master of Mud" and "Duchess of Dirt" titles have been awarded to:

2005 Alan Starrett, Mary Longhofer
2004 Alan Starrett, Olivia Goldfine
2003 Andrew Freye, Emmy Monahan
2002 Michael Vose, Mary Longhofer
2001 Michael Vose, Alyssa Gagnon.
